Gold Luster Dust

Gold Luster Dust

Qty. $3.99

Much finer than the glitter, luster dust can be brushed on the chocolate after it has cooled. Luster dust adds a shimmery touch to cakes, candies and cookie projects. Units: 2 grams. Use the luster dust to add to any chocolate and mold for a beautiful gold look. You only use very little of the luster dust for a beautiful shine. Not 24K. Use with candy paint brush.  We also have 24k gold dust!

Dark Chocolate Mousse Cake with Edible Gold Dust

Use: 8 in or 9 in tart tin
1 tablespoon ground almonds plus extra for dusting
1 bag of Guittard dark chocolate
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter
pinch of salt
5 large eggs
edible gold dust

Preheat the oven to 350F. Brush the tin with a little melted butter and edible gold dust with the ground almonds. Shake off any excess gold dust.

Melt the chocolate, sugar, butter and salt in a microwave bowl in 30-second intervals, stir in between intervals.

Whisk the eggs with the ground almonds and fold into the chocolate mixture. The mixture will thicken after a few minutes. Pour into the cake tin and bake for 35-40 minutes.

Let the cake cool, then dust with edible gold dust.
