Raw, Organic Chocolate
Raw and Organic, Just the Way it is Meant to be!
Raw, Organic Chocolate is quickly making it's way to the top!
Chocolate is one of America's favorite past-times, yet amazingly few have ever tried the cacao beans, or raw chocolate. All chocolate comes from cacao beans which are the seeds of the cacao fruit. This raw chocolate tastes just like dark chocolate because it is!
Raw chocolate means that the cacao has not been heated or processed to retain all of its nutrients. Organic chocolate means that no chemicals have been used in the growth or production of the chocolate. Raw chocolate, or the cacao beans, contain such a huge amount of minerals, antioxidants and other wonderful things, it makes it one of the most nutritious foods in the world. Raw organic chocolate has tons of antioxidants, where broccoli and other vegetables have just a fraction of what you need. When you add dairy, sugar, and chemicals to chocolate, you block most of the antioxidant properties and health benefits.
Raw organic chocolate company owner Vanessa Barg of Gnosis Chocolate talks about raw organic chocolate and what it means to you!
"Gnosis chocolate isn't only organic, but it is raw. This means that I take the cacao beans that grow on the theobroma cacao tree, grind them up, add them to cacao butter melted at a low temperature, add a little raw agave nectar, vanilla, and whatever other fruits, nuts, spices, and herbs for that particular variety, and viola! Unprocessed, simple, pure, raw, organic chocolate. This is real CHOCOLATE without all the fillers, closer to the way it was originally enjoyed by the Olmecs, Mayans, and Aztecs, who used raw organic chocolate not only as a royal treat, but as a medicine. Because of the nutritional density of raw chocolate, it is called a SuperFood. And so Gnosis Chocolate strives to make a raw organic chocolate that is not only delicious but nutritious, as well!
"There is a quickly emerging market for raw and organic products, so this would not only appeal to organic chocolate seekers and natural product seekers, but those who want raw chocolate as well. We are changing the way people think about chocolate - not only as delicious, but as nutritious! "
Vanessa started making raw, organic chocolate during her training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in November of 2006. She originally started making it because she learned about all of the amazing health benefits and saw the opportunity to make wonderful chocolate treats as nutritional gifts for my friends and family.
